Plans to launch the game "South Park: The Fractured But Whole" coming holiday of 2016 has been pushed back somewhere within the first quarter of 2017. Ubisoft just recently announced in a blog post, albeit vaguely, that "South Park: The Fractured But Whole will now launch on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC, calendar Q1 2017." No announcement of the exact date has been made still.
Ubisoft also added that the development team working on their new project wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal.
South Park: The Stick of Truth
In 2014, Ubisoft published its first South Park game, "South Park: The Stick Of Truth". Developed by Obsidian Entertainment and in collaboration with South Park Digital Studios, it received remarkable reviews for its hilarious sattire and absurdity. That's mainly why expectations and hype for the new South Park game has been indubitably high. It was well-recieved by fans of the show and those who knew nothing about South Park.
South Park: The Strick of Truth is currently available for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
Differences
In South Park: The Stick of Truth, you play as the new kid who recently moved into the neighborhood that is involved in the recreation of all the usual roleplaying tropes. You can either join Cartman's Humans or Kyle's Elves, all dressed in amusing "Dungeons and Dragons" cosplay.
In the new South Park: The Fractured But Whole, your role will be the same only with scope of superheroes who makes an attempt to rake in billions of dollars by taking advantage of the superhero trope instead of the fantasy genre.
