NBA Trade Rumors: Nerlens Noel To Leave Philadelphia 76ers For Toronto Raptors

Nerlens Noel has been a household name in the NBA trade rumors and one particular team eyeing his playing skills is the Toronto Raptors.

In a critical analysis of CSN Philly, the Philadelphia 76ers were reported to ponder on whom to trade between Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor to have a balanced lineup. Both players are considered as natural centers that consequently left one playing out of position.

VP of basketball administration Brandon Williams related his thoughts about a team’s accumulation of bigs and shortage of other positions.

“I think this will be one of the first opportunities we have to think about fit,” Williams said.

“It’s always: You want talent. You don’t sacrifice great fit for poor talent. But considering all things being equal, we have an opportunity to balance our roster and we may be able to do that as we get to the 20s,” he elaborated.

Per ESPN’s NBA Trade Machine, the suggested trade that revealed a successful result is to send Noel to the Raptors in switch of Cory Joseph and Normal Powell.

Toronto will find an ideal candidate in Noel to fill their lacking power forward spot. The 22 - year – old star has the versatility to spread his mobility and swiftness in blocking shots.

Acquiring Noel will put the Raptors in a safe zone temporarily as their roster would not outmatch the powerful squads of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors.

The Sixers are yet to confirm their trade offer. They have to decide whether Noel or Okafor should depart from the team and whether the risks involve would be worthy or not. Both Noel and Okafor are for keeps supposedly but one has to be given up in exchange of a team that has a complete register.

Indeed a strategic formula is required to attain a win – win scenario.
