'Fifty Shades Darker' Trailer Reaches 114 Million views; Beats Star Wars' Record

The official trailer of "Fifty Shades Darker" has reached over 114 million views, becoming the most watched trailer across all platforms in just 24 hours. It has beaten "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" record of 88 million views.

The trailer was posted 8 AM of Wednesday PT and in just one hour already received over 2.5 million views on the Facebook page alone. In North America, the trailer got 39.4 million views and the rest of the views came from worldwide market, including France, Mexico, and U.K.

"Fifty Shades Darker" features the return of Christian Grey played by Jamie Dornan, Anastasia Steele played by Dakota Johnson, Luke Grimes, Kim Basinger, Eloise Mumford, Marcia Gay Harden, and Eric Johnson.

The movie is an adaptation of the best-selling book series of E.L. James "Fifty Shades" series. The first movie adaptation of the book grossed more than $571 million at the international box office from a $40 million budget film. "Fifty Shades Darker" will hit the cinemas on February 10, 2017.

This is not the only record the movie series has broken. Its first movie is also announced as the highest February opening weekend movie and the highest grossing film in the R-rated category from Universal.

As for recognitions, the first movie's single "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding was nominated for Best Original Song at the Golden Globe Awards and "Earned It" by The Weekend's was nominated too in the Best Original Song category in the Academy Award.

Fifty Shades Darker trailer shows the couple possibly getting back together but this time, under Anastasia's rules. The couple is seen happy together until a mystery woman shows up and threatens to break them up. Before the trailer ended, the woman is heard saying "You think you're the first one who's tried to save him?"
