The sale of the new iPhones have already started. As usual, a bunch of people had to fall in line to get their hands on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. While most people only care about the glory of having a new iPhone, some people actually had more concerns about what's inside the handset. Hence, the dissecting game began.
iPhone 7 And iPhone 7 Plus Battery
According to PhoneArena, the 7 Plus' battery is a bit similar to its predecessor. However, Apple claims that the new flagship has a longer battery life. The iPhone 7 on the other hand, isn't too far behind its bigger model. The teardown of the device revealed everything that is inside the device, including the hardware changes done to the iPhone when the jack was removed and the exact brands used as iPhone parts.
Needless to say, the lack of a normal headphone jack may have brought about the increase of the device's battery life. According to the source, Apple claims that the iPhone 7 has a two-hour increase of battery life from its predecessor, which is roughly a 20 percent increase.
The iPhone 6S only had a 1715 mAh battery while the iPhone 7 has a 1960 battery. So it is safe to say that the increase in battery life is directly caused by the larger battery. Though, there might also be a few software optimizations and hardware changes that helped increase the phone's battery life.
iPhone 7 More Specs Revealed
Fans can easily conclude that Apple used the extra space coming from the lack of a headphone jack to increase the device's battery size and battery life. iPhone users could actually testify that Apple may not have been putting so much focus into its handsets' battery life. Nonetheless, it looks like Apple has started to prioritize this area now.
Few more things that has been discovered in the teardown include a single bottom speaker and two mics. There is also one mic at the top. The phone then has 2 GB RAM from Samsung and a 128 GB memory chip from Hynix.
