"High Maintenance" on HBO is gaining excellent reviews and high ratings, despite beginning only as a web series made by a married couple.
As it can be recalled, "High Maintenance" premiered back in 2012 on Vimeo, a social media app wherein videos are being uploaded by anyone who creates an account. Thus began the great journey of the web series that is now currently being aired on HBO.
"High Maintenance" From A Web Series On Vimeo To 30-Minute Episodes ON HBO
"High Maintenance" stars married couple Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair discussing the ironies of New York City and different kinds of drugs being purchased there. When the show garnered a number of viewers, Vimeo financed its later seasons.
However, in 2015, HBO announced that they will be picking the show for one season. This has then concerned the fans if it no longer serves its purpose of pure honesty now that it is being aired on a mainstream network.
The doubts of the fans were then altered as HBO has exceeded their expectations in airing "High Maintenance," garnering all praises for all the six episodes that they have aired so far, each 30 minutes long. They have managed to keep its humor while also deepening the concept of the show that concern complicated matters.
"High Maintenance" Series Now Getting Better Review And Larger Audience, Maintaining Original Concept
The fans were really expecting the what-used-to-be web series to degrade into a mainstream television series will no longer tackle its original content. Yet again, the emotional aspect of the series is being dug in deeper with a greater perception of its comic aspect as well.
Each episode of the series used to be a lot shorter than what it is now that HBO picked it up. They still managed to not drag the entire discussion of the episode despite it getting longer. Each episode focuses on a man known only as The Guy (Ben Sinclair) and his loyal customers of purchased drugs.
