Ubisoft’s “Ghost Recon: Future Soldier” is set for a tough time ahead. The game’s newest update – patch 1.2 – is proving to be a rather problematic prospect for PC gamers. Although the new patch is said to be providing ‘fixes’ for the game, these fixes are being overshadowed by the amount of problems faced by players.
The new update is said to provide improved stability in online multiplayer matches, improved voice chat quality for PCs running Windows Vista and improved navigation through game’s menus, it is also creating a tough time for the PC gamers who actually went on and updated the game and are now being forced to use low resolutions.
As per reports, this new update miserably locks the in-game resolution to 720p. It doesn’t even matter if you select a higher resolution or if you edit the config file – the game will still run at 720p. This is now a global issue and not a bug that a couple of gamers are facing with this game.
Another report suggests that the mouse has stopped working after the update. The game’s performance also takes a major blow for no known reasons, the mouse acceleration has new issues, and there are various lock-ups on systems with both Nvidia and AMD cards.
The new update, as per the game’s official page, has also made improvements like introducing a 6-man party system in the multiplayer game mode, several balanced weapons (assault rifles, SMSGs, handguns, shotguns), balanced equipments (grenades, flash bang, EMP, stun guns, number of drones in match), an adjusted aim sensitivity and quick scope, fixed map exploits, adjusted melee, adjusted XP values, and several technical and network improvements.
What’s more disappointing is that the gamers expected to see such issues resolved as the PC version was delayed in order to be polished. At least that was the reason stated by Ubisoft behind the delay.
However, European gamers have nothing to worry about as they may not encounter those issues when “Ghost Recon: Future Soldier” becomes available in their region, this Friday.
As for North American gamers, according to a DSOGaming report, it is suggested that you guys block the auto-updater and running the 1.0 version of the game in the near future.
The approximate size of this new update is 385 MB.
