In the recently held Tokyo Game Show, the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport was made open for beta testing for the public and as expected the gameplay was fluid as ever.
Polyphony Digital and Sony Interactive Entertainment had put together a couple of video game arcade cabinets for the four-day event which they made available during the last two days, as reported by Dual Shockers.
The gaming website was given a chance to capture some gameplay footages directly which can be seen below.
The first Gran Turismo Sport trailer, which ran for more than 6-minutes was a full race occurring in a 100 km/h (62.1 mph) Tokyo Express Way with a Mazda Roadster S putting the speed to the metal. The second outing in the cockpit was done in an international motoring park in Los Angeles, the Willow Springs. The test driver this time, chose a Bugatti Veyron as he digitally cruised smoothly on the California motorway.
"Gran Turismo Sport" is made exclusively for Playstation 4 and is the thirteenth installment of the Gran Turismo video game series. The last entry was for the Playstation 3 with Gran Turismo 6.
Tokyo Game Show, commonly known as TGS, is a video game expo / convention done yearly in September in the Makuhari Messe, in Chiba, Japan.
The latest game from Polyphony Digital was first unveiled in 2015 during the Paris Games Week. Gran Turismo Sport will be the first racing game under the Gran Turismo umbrella for the Playstation 4.
The release of "Gran Turismo Sport" has been marketed as an important date for the series as it will usher in a new era leaving behind the first generation of six installments.
Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi was quoted in Polygon last year saying that:
"Within Gran Turismo Sport, there is going to be two flagship FiA championships running simultaneously throughout the year."
Yamauchi also added that "Gran Turismo Sport" is going to be made compatible with PlayStation VR.
