2K Sports had just recently released a DLC for NBA 2K17 that contains a bundle of All-Time College Teams in the NCAA. The expansion pack is now available on both Xbox Live and PlayStation 4 stores. It will be a fresh college basketball experience since 2K drops their College Hoops franchise back in 2009 and EA sports with their own version on 2013. Although, fans were given a glimpse of college basketball during the arrival of NBA 2K16 but its exposure was not maximized since it only limits into 5 games before entering the NBA.
According to Attack of the Fanboy, the bundle includes college teams such as Arizona, Connecticut, Georgetown, Louisville, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Michigan State. The report mentions that these teams will be accessible through the quick game. However, some minorities are upset that these teams are not already available on the full game itself. On the other hand, it is somewhat understandable that business is business. In addition, acquiring college license is quite expensive to have.
Based on the reports from iDigital Times, having this DLC as of now, is the potential first step towards reviving a college basketball video game franchise on either EA or 2K. Meanwhile, the latest expansion pack consists of all-time great players from each of their respective college teams such as Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson and Allen Iverson to name some.
Players can get the All-time College Bundle DLC for NBA 2K17 for only $14.99 and if you do not feel buying them all, you can purchase these college teams for $1.99 each. It was indeed a whole new college gaming experience as you can fully access the team just like the regular NBA teams.
Meanwhile, fans are hoping that someday 2K will be extending their franchise into the college basketball in the future video games. However, 2K has not yet currently released any statements regarding the matter.
