Since Bungie announced last time that each and every Rise of the Iron players will get a Gjallarhorn, they might have a few tweaks on the condition. Currently, it was revealed that players can only get the Iron Gjallarhorn version if they have pre-ordered the Rise of the Iron expansion pack. Gjallarhorn is arguably the most famous in-game weapon thanks to its powerful ability to track opponents with its 'Wolfpack' rounds. The announcement was good news for those players who have pre-ordered the DLC. Thankfully, the studio has also a surprise for those players who were unable to pre-order the game. As reported, they will be able to acquire the basic version of Gjallarhorn through series of quests.
According to Heavy, even if the Iron Gjallarhorn was given to several players' right after Rise of the Iron launches, they cannot use it yet. It appears that the Iron Gjallarhorn is more like a skin while you will need the real Gjallarhorn for it to be applied. Players need to complete the Gjallrhorn quest in order to get the exotic weapon.
Based on the reports from Game Rant, the Gjallarhorn quest will be available after completing all the main story missions in Rise of the Iron. It was reported that players will be granted a few post-narrative quests to complete. Among those quests are the Gjallarhorn quest. However, before arriving to the quest itself, players will need to do a pre-requisite quest that will ask them to make patrols in the Plaguelands. While on a patrol, players will be requested to scan an abnormality on site 6. After doing the scan, they will be requested to return to the new community area called the Iron Temple and from there, they will be given a quest called Beauty in Destruction or the actual exotic Gjallarhorn quest.
