Not even a week that Google has launched a 7-inch Nexus tablet at the I/O conference, rumors about a 10-inch Nexus tablet have already been rolled out of the rumors mill.
DigiTimes, citing its contacts, has reported that the Internet search giant is planning a 10-inch version of its Nexus 7 tablet.
According to the source, Wintek and AU Optronics will supply the tablet's display panels. Google previously also ordered 500,000 OGS touch panels from Wintek for its Nexus 7 tablet, the report says.
Google's latest Nexus 7 tablet sports 1280 x 800 IPS display, quad-core Tegra 3 processor, Android's newly launched 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 1.2-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM, Near Field Communication technology and a 4,325mAh battery. Built by Taiwan's Asus, the Nexus tablet feels remarkably light at 0.41-inches thickness and 0.75 pounds weight. The Nexus 7 will be available in mid-July for $199.
While the present model is expected to give a tough competition to Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Amazon Kindle Fire, the next 10-inch model, with a larger display and more powerful battery and an extremely tempting price tag of $299, would invariably attempt to compete against Apple iPad.
