If you thought that only the price and processor that will win the game for Google Nexus 7, you were absolutely wrong! Nexus 7, the latest Google-Asus tablet that was unveiled at the recent I/O conference as a direct competitor to Amazon's Kindle Fire in the low-cost smaller tablet segment, does not only deliver faster performance, sport a more responsive screen with great media options and comes with an attractive price tag of $199, it also fazes out Fire in battery performance, says a recent report.
According to the repair wizards at iFixit, Google's new tablet which has a 4326 mAh, 16 Wh battery, lasts 9:49 hours and works more than two hours longer when compared to Kindle Fire which "has a 4400 mAh, 16.28 Wh battery" that "only lasts 7:42 hours."
With quad-core Tegra 3 processor, Jelly Bean OS and Near Field Communication technology feature, Nexus 7 has already been quite successful in making a solid impression among the budget-minded users in the low-cost 7-inch tablet segment. But, iFixit reveals that's not all!
The report also reveals that with a "significantly larger at 11500 mAh, 42.5 Wh" battery, the new iPad lasts for "9:52 hours for HSPA and 9:37 hours for LTE." Therefore, Nexus 7 battery is a wonder in the leading tabs when it comes to battery performance. But the geeks at the iFixit also remind the fact that the latest 7-inch Google tablet does not sport Retina display, powerful HD apps or cellular radios that juice out more battery life for the iPad.
Nexus 7 in iFixit's Repairability Test, scores 7 out of 10 which makes it far more easily repairable tablet than the new iPad which scores only 2 out of 10 in the same category, declares iFixit.
