Netflix will soon be releasing the much anticipated revival of the mom-daughter tandem TV series, "Gilmore Girls," and Milo Ventimiglia (who played the role of Jess Mariano) has shared his delight over the project.
The first quarter of the year marked the confirmation of the return of a well-loved family-oriented TV series as Netflix announced the "Gilmore Girls" revival series after almost 16 years since it began airing on TV. The original cast of "Gilmore Girls" all agreed that filming the revival show, titled "Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life," was an excellent experience. This includes Ventimiglia, who shared his thoughts on the revival project during a recent interview.
Ventimiglia, while promoting his new NBC drama series "This is US," spoke with Collider about "A Year in the Life." He talked about how he found out about the revival in October 2015 and how creator Amy Sherman Palladino was working on the project.
Hearing about the upcoming new series, the actor jumped at the opportunity to take part in the show, saying, "It was fun to revisit the show and the great words that Amy and partner Dan Palladino always wrote."
In a separate interview, Ventimiglia was asked to drop any hints about the upcoming "Gilmore Girls" revival, and the actor answered in a jest, "Absolutely nothing." Yet, he said the promotions for the sequel series will tease fans with parts of the new season.
"It doesn't surprise me," he said. "It's a timeless show. It's something that people will appreciate for a very long time. And to see new fans that are younger than the age of the original fans, you know, it's exciting," he told Entertainment Weekly.
Previously, Milo Ventimiglia teased fans with a peek at Jess Mariano's role, now being a fully matured man. He also gave fairly safe answers when asked about whether he and Rory reconnect in a romantic way in the upcoming mini-series.
"Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" premieres on Netflix on Nov. 25.
