When you hear the word exorcist or exorcism, what comes to your mind? How does it feel when you watch movies related to exorcism? Does it give you the shivers like it should?
The Exorcist is about to take the primetime stage as the remake of the 1973 classic airs tonight on Fox. The new TV series has a lot of things to prove. They need to live up the hype that was built and to be better than the competition we have today.
The first episode sets up multiple narratives, it includes introducing main characters and providing hair raising scenes. The pilot episode is considered as strong and a must-see. The TV series will surely show its edge compared to the other scary, horror TV series.
The Exorcist will be led by Alfonso Herrera as Father Thomas, Ben Daniels as Father Marcus, and Geena Davis as Angela Rance.
Geena Davis is a seasoned veteran already when it comes to starring a TV series. In 2005, he was able to bag the Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress - Television Series Drama for her role in Commander In Chief. She was also a part of Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Nicole Herman. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for Thelma and Louise along with her co-star Susan Sarandon.
"I loved the whole idea when I heard about it and read the script for the pilot. I was a big fan of The Exorcist - although of course scarred for life as most everyone was from watching it - Just when I heard the title oh was like, ‘Oh that could be good.' As long as they're not remaking the movie. I don't want to be the Ellen Burstyn character, just remake it, but it's not all. It's in a world where the events of the movie took place, but now it's forty-something years later and something's happening again. I just love scary stuff," Davis told E! News.
