New Assassin's Creed Set To Bring Back Pace Of The Franchise

Assassin's Creed has been one of the most successful franchises in the gaming world. Since the very first Assassin's Creed game was released back in 2008, the open-world action-adventure historical game was embraced warmly by the fans and created a strong foundation to the community. The franchise then extended its coverage to the different notable time period in history such as the Renaissance in 15th century and American Revolution in the 18th century which they incorporated it perfectly into the game.

Ubisoft, has been constantly adding new features and improvements into the game as the franchise moves forward. The studio was also making efforts in incorporating historical facts and settings into the game. However, Assassin's Creed's latest titles always came out flat, lost and lacks excitement on the overall gameplay. According the reports from Game Rant, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot thinks that the franchise has gone stale. After Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, fans did not feel the same hype on the following Unity and Syndicate titles. The gameplay and overall plot are not that appealing for the fans. Perhaps the characters lack that 'attitude' which most of the previous Assassins have.

Game Rant also mentions that the next Assassin's Creed could be a 'game changer.' It was after Ubisoft announced that they will be opting out this year to focus on the next AC game. The announcement serves as a 'resting phase' for the franchise considering that they have so many improvements to make. Currently, Ubisoft has not yet released further details about the game's development.

According to Trusted Reviews, Guillemot said in a recent interview that the franchise 'will be back when it is ready.' He also added that skipping this year allows them to re-evaluate the franchise since from the start of Unity, they received lots of feedbacks from the fans that state the declining condition of the franchise. However, Guillemot said that they will make sure that the next Assassin's Creed game would bring back the pace. He highlights the evolution of the game mechanics and the promise of making the Assassin's Creed game back to its rightful place.
