Lenovo Moto M has been seen slated for international release as revealed by a report on Friday, Sept. 24. The upcoming smartphone was originally scheduled to be available only to China.
Lenovo Moto M with model number XT-1662 might be released outside of China in the coming months. According to a report from Phone Arena, the Moto M units that will be sold outside the Chinese territory have model number XT-1663 and they are expected to be higher in number than the original version.
However, the same report stressed that the international release will initially be available only in Asia. Nevertheless, the report still has to be verified yet as there is no official statement coming straight from Lenovo until now.
Lenovo Moto M is codenamed "Kung-fu." It has secured its certification already at the Chinese TENAA regulatory agency. Per leaked specifications, Moto M will sport a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920-pixel resolution.
Its system will be powered by an MT6755 chipset clocked in at 2.1GHz and the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. The chip was manufactured by MediaTek which just scored a deal with Samsung Electronics recently for its upcoming low to mid-range smartphones and tablets.
Lenovo is also embedding 3GB of random access memory (RAM), a 32GB internal storage and a 3,000-mAh battery for the phone. In terms of camera, the Chinese mobile phone maker will use a 16MP lens for the main shooter and an 8MP lens for the front camera.
In another news, a report from IB Times stated that a Moto M XT-1663 version was seen in GFXBench test. However, the device seen sports a 4.6-inch screen, a MediaTek MT6750 chipset and an octa-core 1.9GHz CPU. The only data matching the "Kung-fu" is that it has a 1080 x 1920-pixel resolution, Mali-T860 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, 16MP and 8MP camera combination.
Technically, the XT-1663 intended for international release across Asia is the compact variety of the Lenovo Moto M XT-1662 in China.
Lenovo's revelation of said smartphones is expected anytime soon.
