Samsung's highly acclaimed Galaxy S3 smartphone is hitting the South Korean market shelves on July 9, SamsungTomorrow, a Korean Web site, has informed.
The Korean version of the Galaxy S3 will use a quad-core Exynos chipset rather than a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon and will support LTE. And, as expected, it will be a bit thicker measuring 9mm than its US sibling which measures 8.6mm. it will also support wireless connectivity through - GSM, WCDMA, CDMA (for the LG+ carrier only) and LTE, plus NFC, T-DMB television, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.
Galaxy S3's Korean version will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, sport 2GB RAM, 32GB of built-in storage which can be expanded with microSD cards and will have a 2100mAh battery. It will also sport Human Interaction features like S Voice (a customized voice recognition system that recognizes a variety of commands), Smart Stay (the front-facing camera of the phone monitors your eyes and maintains a "bright display for continued viewing pleasure"), S Beam (an enhanced version of Android Beam system that will allow content to be shared easily), Smart Alert (to inform you of missed calls, messages, or emails by vibrating gently when you pick up the after keeping it idle for some time), Social Tag (it recognize faces in photos and links with social media information directly from the gallery), AllShare Media and more.
It will land on three major carriers SKT, KT and LG+. Meanwhile, a non-LTE version of the Galaxy S3 is already on sale in Korea.
