Tomb Raider is 20 years!
This year marks the 20th anniversary of our beloved Lara Croft series, Tomb Raider, and Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix is releasing Rise Of The Tomb Raider Game Of The Year Edition bundled with all of its DLC from the past and more. Three new modes are added including one playable in VR (Virtual Reality). Rise of The Tomb Raider will be ready on October 11, 2016 and the what was once an Xbox One exclusive game is now coming for PS4.
Three New Modes
'Blood Ties' is the most notable mode and is set in the Croft Manor. In this story-driven single player campaign, after her father's death, Lara's uncle is challenging her ownership of Croft Manor. Lara needs to explore her ancestral home to find important evidence that would prove the Manor is her birthright - and that she is the rightful heir. In 'Blood Ties' Nightmare, her home is overrun by zombies that came alive and hordes of this infectious undead needs some major slaying before Lara is overwhelmed by the nightmare. It is a mode for the players to enjoy the game's combat.
The other new mode, and allegedly the best one out of the three, is the Endurance Co-op, which adds co-op play to the survival mode introduced in one of the early DLCs. You can play endurance with a friend and must practice teamwork by planning together, reiving each other, and sharing food as you try to survive the harsh elements, as well as lethal enemies, both man and beast. You can survive by keeping warm, finding fuel for your fire is important, and that you must keep yourself from getting hungry. The obvious goal being is to survive as long as possible
Blood Ties will also be available to be played in virtual reality with Sony's PlayStation VR headset.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Edition will be out on 11 October for PS4 and Xbox One. Endurance Co-Op is available for free to Xbox One users who bought the original single player Endurance DLC. Only Season Pass holders will get Blood Ties and Lara's Nightmare.
