More bad news for “Sniper” fans. While the game has been delayed a number of times over the past months, now a new report from Eurogamer has stated that City Interactive’s “Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2” is now scheduled for an October 9 release on current generation consoles and PC.
“Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2” was initially scheduled for a March 14 release. However, it later got delayed until late summer. In April, City Interactive announced that the game would be finally hitting stores in August 21.
The game is powered by Cry Engine 3 and the previously released gameplay trailer showed one of the producers, Michael Sokolski, playing a level in the demo that takes place in Sarajevo.
“Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 takes the bulls-eye precision of its 2 million plus best-selling predecessor to new and exciting heights. The only multi-platform FPS modern shooter exclusively designed around the sniper experience and built using the most advanced game engine in CryENGINE3,” says the game’s official page. “The missions of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 are graphically stunning and provide more diverse sniper challenges. Feel the kill as you experience unprecedented levels of realism in weapons, ballistics and environmental factors.”
The new game provides you with a taste of varied combat environments. From rocky crags of Tibet, to the vine-covered jungles of the Philippines or the urban backdrop of a war-torn Sarajevo, the new game will test your instincts and judge you as sniper elite. Moreover, your ability to blend into your environment and cross enemy terrain is tantamount to completing the mission will decide your success and, eventually, your survival.
Let’s hope there are no further alterations to the game’s release date in the future.
