Here’s some highly anticipated news from the “Diablo” front. As per Blizzard, you will soon be able to trade commodities in the “Diablo 3” real money auction house. Community manager Kaivax has posted that gold trading will also be enabled later but won’t be included in the current update.
The new update has arrived at a time when Blizzard is trying to keep hold of its players after having publicly admitted that the game does not have enough end-game content as they would have liked.
“The ability to trade gold as a commodity won’t be included in this initial update, but we hope to enable it in the near future. Keep an eye on this thread for further updates,” wrote Kaivax.
The following commodities will be available soon for trading in the real-money auction house:
- Gems
- Dyes
- Crafting Materials
- Blacksmithing Plans and Jeweler Designs
- Pages of Training
“We recognize that the item hunt is just not enough for a long-term sustainable end-game. There are still tons of people playing every day and week, and playing a lot, but eventually they're going to run out of stuff to do (if they haven't already),” explained Bashiok, Blizzard community manager, on Battle.net. “Killing enemies and finding items is a lot of fun, and we think we have a lot of the systems surrounding that right, or at least on the right path with a few corrections and tweaks.”
“But honestly Diablo III is not World of Warcraft. We aren't going to be able to pump out tons of new systems and content every couple months. There needs to be something else that keeps people engaged, and we know it's not there right now,” he further added.
More information on this will soon follow.
