Tekken 7 and Street Fighter 5 are confronted by potential malware threats. Fortunately, the developers are doing their best to improve the games' security.
Tekken 7: Cross Platform Shelved Due to Hacking Threats
Tekken 7 representative Katsuhiro Harada posted a tweet saying that the cross platform feature for the game will not be supported due to the possible threat of hacking. Cross platform plays basically allows PS4, Xbox One console and Window PC players to compete in games such as Tekken 7.
Tekken 7: Cross Platform Shelved Due To PC Players' Cheating Reputation
Harada also mentioned that they decided not to pushed through with the cross platform due to PC players' reputation for cheating. Such accusation may be unfair to PC owners. However, the mere perception among console players that such possibility exists may defeat the purpose of adding a cross platform play.
Street Fighter 5 Rootkit
Capcom issued a Street Fighter 5 update on September 22. However, it was also discovered that a PC rootkit was also included in the update, according to The Register. Fortunately, the developer was able to send out a patch to fix the earlier bad patch. Capcom tweeted the fix will revert the PC to an earlier version while retaining the added features.
