343 Industries has revealed some new details about the new Forge mode in “Halo 4” Forge mode. It is being developed at an Austin-based studio Certain Affinity.
First things first, the video for Forge looks incredible, and a lot more accessible than the previous Forge modes in the past “Halo” games. Players will now have the ability to easily duplicate objects and lock them as well resulting in a smooth experience and none of that annoyance.
Certain Affinity, which developed Crimson Alliance and has worked on Halo map packs, confirmed its involvement during the Rooster Teeth Expo at the weekend.
The upcoming game’s Forge mode was shown, revealing an incomplete UI and new user-friendly features according to Polygon. This also includes the ability to lock placed objects on the map, highlighted tool-tips that give greater control over individual objects, magnetized connections between objects and a new, shadow-casting lighting system.
Discussing about the shadow-casting lighting system, the Forge mode has an entirely new lighting system that will allow objects placed in the map to both cast shadows and have shadows cast onto them.
Builders, according to a Verge report, can also set "Player Trait Zones" which can alter any player parameter (run speed, jump height, damage reduction, and so on) as they enter a field placed on the map. Certain Affinity also revealed something called the "Grav Volume." This is a field which augments or reverses entirely the orientation of gravity for anyone who steps into it.
“Halo 4” is set to be released in November this year for the Xbox 360.
