With every passing week, more and more rumors regarding the arrival of the highly anticipated Xbox 720 are gaining momentum. And not so surprisingly, even this week the rumors have kept flowing in to keep up the interest among fans.
To begin with, we are all aware of the PDF document that was previously leaked with Xbox 720′s specs. Microsoft, however, was quick enough to react and take it down.
As per the document, Xbox 720 will be 4x-6x times more powerful than the current generation Xbox 360, will have Next-Gen Sensors (Kinect V2.0 and Glasses), will be packed with a Blu-Ray drive, and will feature video acceleration capabilities.
Presently, the Kinect feature of the current gen Xbox suffers from annoying lags and the problem becomes more and more evident with every game that arrives. But now the aforementioned Kinect V2.0 will feature a Dedicated Processing Unit that will eliminate all such lags and other issues. What’s more, Kinect V2.0 will support better 3D Play Space (closer, wider, deeper), improved Voice Recording, four Player tracking and an enhanced HD RGB Camera.
The next gen console is also said to be powered by as many as three CPUs (that will run at 3.2Ghz) and 4GB of memory, something very important for next-generation games. This is the information gained after Tokyo, Japan-based game developer Square Enix stated that next-generation consoles will need a lot of memory in order to run a game like the "Agni's Philosophy" tech demo.
Microsoft is also said to be aiming for a 10 year lifecycle and the launch bundle of Xbox 720 (with Kinect V2.0) will be priced at $299. Moreover, Kinect Glasses will, in all probability, offer “Screen Zero” Trans-screen experiences and will be launched in 2014.
It is also believed that Microsoft will invest in a Cloud Rendering Platform for gaming, video and apps in 2015. This means that gamers will be able to enjoy better games without the need of buying an entirely new console.
More information on this will soon follow.
