"Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariendel" DLC will feature the new snowy terrain map and PVP arena map of FromSoftware. As a new potential Quest NPC, the Knight offering a piece of cloth is also rumored to be part of the expansion which is also said to be a short one.
"Dark Souls 3" DLC is set to be an expansive open field DLC in stretches of wintery fields. The "Ashes of Ariendel" DLC will include new spells, bosses, weapons, areas and quests as confirmed by "Dark Souls 3" director Hidetaka Miyazaki. The DLC will be released on Oct. 25 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Miyazaki pointed out that the "Ashes of Ariendel" will focus on a Gothic Horror theme while the second DLC will dig deeper into the vanilla "Dark Souls 3" theme and content. Both DLCs combined will be similar to "Artorias of the Abyss" DLC of "Dark Souls 1." The "Artorias of the Abyss" was a hefty 350.57MB, but it remains to be seen just how big the DLC will be.
"Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss" DLC weighs around 350.57 MB large. "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariendel" could be smaller if it has the same size as the second DLC.
It is possible that the "Artorias of the Abyss" content is already in the game and the download will be available through the unlock code. Fans may just have to wait until October 25 to see if "Ashes of Ariandel" will really be a small addition to "Dark Souls 3."
Previously, the "Dark Souls 3" DLC will feature improved graphics as the game has been revamped using Unreal Engine 4 with next-gen lighting effects. The gameplay and detail level design of "Dark Souls 3" has already earned praises since its release and was even include in Game Rant's Top 10 Games of 2015.
Mods also replaced the dark and gothic textures of the game with Goosebumps, Shrek, and lots of crabs. The most notable recreation was that of 3D artist Benjamin G. Roach on "Dark Soul 3" protagonist Farron Keep in Unreal Engine 4.
"Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariendel" DLC trailer was already released by the game's publisher Bandai Namco last week. The game patched in a variety of new landscapes and added new enemies. Players will also be allowed to equip new weapons and armor as well as use new magic.
