Samsung fans in US have just recently got their hands on the new Galaxy S3. And while most carriers in the States haven’t even touched the phone’s software since its release, it has been reported that Sprint has started distributing the second-such OTA update for its own Galaxy S3.
The first update for the Galaxy S3 on Sprint started going out late last month, even before the handset was available in Sprint retail stores. The carrier, at that time, described it only as a “security update”. However, the new release, bringing the phone up to system software L710VPLG2, has also been described in a similarly vague way and has been noted as containing “Google security updates”.
Folks at Pocketnow.com believe that the second security update, being related to Google, could mean a fully-supported Google Wallet with the phone’s NFC hardware, taking into consideration that it is a Sprint handset.
Although the carrier hasn't offered any details on what the new update fixes, considering the previous update is just a generic security update, it's interesting to see that the device has received multiple security updates within less than a month.
But also note here that one of the Sprint customers, neoflasher01, who installed the update, stated on the Sprint Community thread that although he has received the update, he hasn't noticed any difference.
