"The Flash" movie director Rick Famuyiwa has been addressing casting rumors of the upcoming film, with his latest teaser prompting speculations from fans about a possible The Flash/ Cyborg collaboration.
Famuyiwa took to Twitter to post the cover page to the most recent draft of his upcoming screenplay for "The Flash." His Twitter post featured a close-up photo of two Funko Pop standing on top of the script remarked with "Current Revisions by Rick Famuyiwa; Based on the characters in DC Comics." The Funko Pops can only be identified through the picture of their feet and one which belongs to Flash and the other pair speculated to be Cyborg.
Prior this post, another rumor had surfaced that Cyborg would make an appearance in the upcoming "The Flash" film, to which Famuyiwa replied "#SaysWho?"
Most fans didn't buy his response on social media as producers have already dropped hints that The Flash and Cyborg would share a good friendship in the upcoming "Justice League" film.
Also, executive producer Deborah Snyder talked about DC's upcoming film and specifically mentioned the duo:
"David Ayer's 'Suicide Squad' has such an amazing, brash tone. It's fun and it's about the villains, and it's super-different than Patty Jenkins' 'Wonder Woman,' which is an origin story and tells her story. As you can imagine, when we get to the 'Flash' movie, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher - who plays Cyborg - are kind of our youngest characters, and they have a really nice comradery with each other. Ezra is super funny, so the tone of that film will be very different than the rest of them."
The DC hero Cyborg is set to make his first true appearance in "Justice League" movie, although he had a cameo in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
Who Is Cyborg?
From the comic story, Victor Stone was a high school athlete whose father saved his life after he was gravely affected by the catastrophic accident and turned him into a cyborg. From the movies, Victor was called a Mother Box which has ties to Justice League villain Steppenwolf and his nephew, Darkseid, also the expected villain in a forthcoming "Justice League" sequel.
The comics described Cyborg's abilities including communicating and manipulating machines, being able to reshape the cybernetic parts of his body, and basic energy projection. Most notably, the elements of New Gods technology was implanted into Victor's body, making him able to open Boom Tubes, communicate with Mother Boxes and a lot more, which seem likely to be a key part of the hero's skill set.
Whether Cyborg will really appear or not in "The Flash" movie is yet to be confirmed. The DC offering is expected to begin filming in early 2017, and will be released on March 16, 2018.
