New casts, new episode titles and a more exciting storyline are promised with the upcoming installment of "Stranger Things". Perhaps one of the most successful series in America, the story gave us a picture of the 1980's era added with some thrilling and hair-raising scenarios. Its season 1 has been a huge success for the Duffer Brothers.
With this, expectations on its second installment mounted to a higher level. According to Screen Rant, its first season already established a great number of dedicated viewers. The problem right now though is how to maintain and further engage the solid fan base that they have. With many competitions around the globe, the Duffer Brothers might face its biggest challenge for the upcoming season.
The producer, Shawn Levy, reiterated that the creators acknowledged the pressure and made it a key to take "Stranger Things" Season 2 to a higher level as compared to its former season. The team has already mind-mapped some plans but promises that they would never remove the part that audiences have already admired in the show.
Levy stated, "Yes, the pressure is on. It would be so blatantly disingenuous of me to say differently. It's scary to have people love something this much. It becomes impossible to banish all thoughts of not wanting to disappoint. This has been the challenge of it: on the one hand as we've see in the movie world, to do a follow-up that feels like the same thing is disappointing to an audience; to abandon things or change things [from the original], that disappoints the audience. A lot of Season 2 is next-level, some crazy stuff, but we must service these characters who are now beloved, who are known to the audience. "
As cited in Slash Film, the producer also gave emphasis on the rising issue that the main characters are not going to be young forever. Levy added in his statement:
We had dinner with the kids. We could see it right in front of us. They are not the same. They are still, thank God, charming and authentic, but it is a different form of those things.
He even added:
I think we're going to stay honest with these kids by growing with them.
