"Jane The Virgin" may be trying a different route this season 3 when it comes to how the characters of the surprise hit TV show will be portrayed on screen.
Fans may be used to the show as light, funny, and oftentimes comical twist and turn type of plots, but in Season 3 the show might be looking to feature a more dramatic side of the characters.
Gina Rodriguez, the actress who plays the titular character, states in an interview with Entertainment Weekly about some of the scenes that Jane will have to endure in the comedy's third season:
"You learn to replace your energy in some other thought than the one in the scene," reveals Rodriguez.
The charming actress then continues by saying, "You see her in the lowest of lows. It's very heavy."
Fans might remember that the last season left the character in a state of distress. Jane just got married when the man she finally chose, her childhood sweetheart Michael, just got shot and is in a coma.
This would challenge Jane and fans would finally get to see the absurdly upbeat heroine at her most vulnerable.
So to those who are for Team Michael, it might be a good idea to prepare some tissues by the time Season 3 of "Jane the Virgin" rolls around.
Another plot that the show will touch on is about Jane's mother Xo who was left with some pregnancy issues of her own. It seems like the child that she is carrying might not be Rogelio's after all.
And of course, it would not be "Jane the Virgin" without any crazy twist, as the father could be, Esteban Santiago, who is Rogelio's arch nemesis.
"Jane The Virgin" season 3's release date has yet to be announced. But with all these spoilers floating around, it might be a good idea to stay tuned.
