iPad Mini Features: Leaked Sample Photos Indicate Mini as the Thinnest Apple Tablet

First, it was an "iPhone 5 engineering sample," then GottaBeMobile on Tuesday posted some leaked images of an engineering sample of what it say the "iPad Mini."

According to GottaBeMobile, the sample may also be a case mold for use during accessory design. The mold reveals that the new iPad will be the thinnest and about two-thirds the size of tabs produced by Apple till date. Folks at GottaBeMobile have suggested that the new iPad will be 213.36mm tall and 143.67mm wide, two-thirds of the size of the new third-generation iPad which is 241.3mm tall, 185.67mm wide, and 9.39mm thick.

iPad Mini will have 7.85-inch display and the bottom of the Mini will sport the smaller 19-pin dock connector that's rumored to be coming with the iPhone 5, the website informed. Moreover, unlike its predecessor's one speaker, the new iPad Mini will come with two speakers on either side of the dock connector, and the speakers will be rear-facing and easy to cover while holding.

As per some early rumors, Apple will pack in an IGZO display from Sharp and an 8 GB of flash memory with the new iPad. And, it will be priced at a reasonable $299. According to Pacific Crest analyst Andy Hargreaves, the Cupertino tech giant will sell 10 million of the Minis by the end of 2012.

Apple is expected to launch iPad Mini this fall.
