Kingdom Hearts III is an upcoming game that will feature various characters from Final Fantasy and Disney Characters. Fans hoped that it will come out sooner rather than later.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is an upcoming game and mere spin-off of the series. It is slated for release on January 2017. However, Disney and Square Enix have continued to put off a Kingdom Hearts legitimate sequel until now.
Kingdom Hearts III Story Line and Available Characters
The Kingdom Hearts III promo video featured the return of Sora and Xehanort. Other characters returning to the franchise include King Mickey Mouse, Donald the Duck and Goofy as well as Riku. The third sequel once again pits Sora against Xehanort.
Sora is on a quest to meet the seven light masters. He is accompanied by the Disney duo Donald and Goofy. Meanwhile, Xehanort seeks to overthrow the "light tyrants" in order to restore the balance between the forces of light and darkness.
Several famous Disney locations and characters will also be included in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III. They include Rapunzel from Tangled, the loveable Robot Baymax from Big Hero 6 and other characters from Frozen, Hercules and Wreck-it Ralph, according to the official Kingdom Hearts III website.
There were also rumors that Star Wars and Marvel characters will also be included in Kingdom Hearts III. People in charge of the game's production however, were cautious about such possibility.
Kingdom Hearts III Gameplay
Generally, Kingdom Hearts is a third person RPG game. The main character Sora was shown running jumping and fighting opponents using various weapons ranging from Final Fantasy style swords to rainbow colored guns.
Kingdom Hearts III Expected Launch Date and Platforms
The upcoming Kingdom Hearts III is expected to be released on 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. However, neither Disney nor Square Enix has confirmed an official launch date.
