The Galaxy Note 7 was supposed to hit stores in Europe on Sept. 2 as its official release date. However, Samsung had to halt sales and consider a new release date after handsets were recalled due to customer complaints regarding battery problems.
For those waiting for the European release, Samsung has finally set a launch date in late October and Samsung assures that everyone would be happier with the new set of Note 7.
The assurance of better handsets
In a statement, Samsung assured that the battery issues of the Note 7 have been fixed. Recalls and the new release are expected to be better the second time around, especially with the battery feature. The company noted that 26 reports of the Galaxy Note 7 exploding are actually false.
Moreover, Samsung has been urging its customers to exchange their old and 'faulty' Galaxy Note 7 with the new unit to launch this October. To address the battery problems, Samsung provided the quick fix of limiting the charging capacity of the Galaxy Note 7 to just 60 percent by rolling up a software update to those who do not want to exchange their Note 7.
Finally, a release date
After putting the necessary safeguards, Samsung has planned to formally release the Galaxy Note 7 in Europe on Oct. 28. Issues regarding the battery exploding are still around but Samsung is still confident with the customer loyalty they have in Europe. Recalls of the old Note 7 is up by 57 percent and most of the users, which makes up 90 percent, have already chosen the new available device to replace their old one.
While Samsung might have assured this time around that no more of its batteries will explode, many may still be having doubts whether to buy the hottest Android phablet right now or to pass it up for one that does not actually burst into flames.
