Amidst scarce reports of Nintendo's next-generation console, a major U.K. retailer may have just leaked the Nintendo NX's price.
Tesco Leaked Nintendo NX Release Details?
A supermarket named Tesco listed the Nintendo NX in its website, putting in a Dec. 31 release date. What is more intriguing, however, is the price.
The Nintendo NX had a price of £349.99, which roughly converts to $450, Nintendo Life reported. This bit has since been taken down, but not before fans took a screenshot of the webpage.
While it is possible that this is the real price and the supermarket just made a mistake in putting it early, there are speculations that suggest that it is just a placeholder price, similar to the release date that many are assuming to be a placeholder also.
Even so, TechnoBuffalo reported that this might have some truth to it. Nintendo and Tesco have had close ties ever since they worked together in increasing the sales of the current console, the Wii U.
Nintendo NX Reveal May Happen in October
There are rumors indicating that Nintendo's next console will be revealed sometime in October. It might be true, seeing that the holiday season is coming up. It is believed that the Japanese company will launch the NX around that time.
This is in contradiction to a previous report stating that the reveal may happen during a Nintendo Direct event sometime in the future and nearer to the launch.
"Nintendo is not ready to discuss [the NX] yet," Nintendo of Canada communications manager Andrew Collins allegedly said. "Once we are, Nintendo will most likely hold a Nintendo Direct in the future - before launch - to discuss it."
This could mean that an unveiling may not happen soon.
Nevertheless, the gaming community is looking forward to the Nintendo NX and if it will compete with Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One.
