As Adria Arjona is reported to join the cast of "Pacific Rim 2", Charlie Hunnam has confirmed that he will not be joining the sequel entitled "Pacific Rim: Maelstrom"
Hunnam, who plays the role of Jaeger pilot "Raleigh Becket", explained that the reason why he cannot join the sequel is because of his busy schedule and Hollywood politics. The actor is reported to be starring in the upcoming "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" movie directed by Guy Ritchie and is scheduled to reach the big screens by March 24, 2017.
The 36-year-old actor also said that "There was one incarnation of this sequel that involved me heavily, but I was unavailable. They have a very definite schedule that they have to film because of the politics and business surrounding filmmaking," the actor also added "Sometimes noncreative decisions will dictate how something unfolds, which seems ass-backwards in the fact that we're making art, or at least aspiring to make art. It ended up being, unfortunately, something that we couldn't remedy"
"True Detective" actress, Adria Arjona, is reported to join the cast but is keeping mum about her role. The actress is also set to play as Dorothy Gale in the upcoming television adaptation of "Wizard of Oz", in "The Belko Experiment" horror film produced by James Gunn, and "The Life of the Party" in 2018.
Rumor has it that the "Pacific Rim" movie prefers to ">cast rising stars rather than huge actors to save on expenses. This is probably due to the fact that the movie didn't do particularly well in US market but loved by the international audience and by keeping the expenses down for an unproven franchise is practical.
"Pacific Rim: Maelstrom has been in production since November 2016 and is set to hit theaters on February 23, 2018.
