New PlayStation 3 Images Leaked Online

While Microsoft is making headlines all over the planet with the highly anticipated arrival of Xbox 720, Sony is gaining its fair bit of limelight with rumors regarding the next PlayStation, PlayStation 4, as well as a new PlayStation 3. Now the latest reports state that images of the new PlayStation 3 have been leaked online.

Just about a week ago, the rumor mill discussed about reports regarding the FCC Filing which suggested that a new PlayStation 3 model (possibly the last model before the next-generation PlayStation debuts) is in the development.

Now, however, a more revealing leak has surfaced, and this time from another filing. Tecnoblog discovered several suspected images of the device itself that were included in a filing with the Brazilian Agency of Telecommunications (Anatal).

The new images show quite an interesting device that is designed with a wavy top, fairly curved and a concave front, and oval-shaped bottom. The bottom of the console, which will supposedly act as the stand in some instances is quite weirdly shaped and doesn’t look like it fits in with the rest of the console. And although the design of the device is pretty sleek, it’s still pretty odd and hard to take in.

The new filing has confirmed three new PS3 models – The CECH-4011A, 4011B, and 4011C. The FCC filing leak from last week stated that the device sported a CECH-4001x model number, so there should be no questions regarding its legitimacy. Tecnoblog further reported that, at one point, the Brazilian filing included a letter that specifically noted the A, B, and C models were to offer 160GB, 250GB, and 500GB of storage, respectively.

Although nothing is still known about the arrival of the new console, several rumors have suggested that it will make its debut at the Gamescom that takes place in Germany at the end of August. More reports will soon follow.
