'Homeland' Season 6 News And Update: Is The Series Endorsing Hilary Clinton? Storyline Suggests A Female U.S. President

Fans are speculating that "Homeland" Season 6 is endorsing Hilary Clinton as its storyline will center around an election and the challenges of a first female president. However, showrunners deny the rumor and said that the storyline has already been decided before the election has even started.

Executive producers of the series also said that "Homeland" Season 6 is set to air in January of the next year so citizens have already chosen their president: Donald Trump for Republicans or Hillary Clinton for Democrats.

Big surprises are to be expected in the upcoming season. Frances "Frannie" Mathison, Carrie Mathison's daughter, have a big exposé in the coming season and may be played by a new actress as it requires an older version of Frannie. Last season, Frannie was played by Luna and Lotta Pfitzer, twins from Germany. No reports if an actress has already been cast for the upcoming season but sources say the child is likely to be based in the US for production convenience.

The new season will bring Carrie (Claire Danes) and her daughter, Frannie, in New York where the country has just elected a female president, Elizabeth Keane played by Elizabeth Marvel.

Executive Producer Alex Gansa, announced that "Homeland" will end in Season 8 and plans to shoot one of the seasons in Israel. It can be remembered that the show's original concept is based on "Prisoners of War" Israeli drama and dubbed as "one of the most internationally located shows in the history of TV" so it is not surprising to the fans that it has chosen Israel as one of its final destinations.

According to Gansa, the decision to end or extend "Homeland" depends on "Showtime" bosses. Unless Gansa also prefers to end the series then the bosses are likely to support him.

"Homeland" Season 6 is scheduled to hit the small screens on January 15, 2017, on Showtime.
