Apple, three weeks after unveiling the last beta version, released the next beta version iOS 6 on Monday. According to the Cupertino tech giant's brief release notes, iOAS 6 beta 3 includes only "bug fixes and improvements."
MacRumors, however, has set up a thread and said to be adding more information as they go.
According to the thread, the list of iOS 6 beta 3 improvements includes auto brightness of the device that increases gradually instead of instantly and also adds pictures next to privacy settings. It also introduces improvements in Maps setting by including information like roadwork, accidents, MTA subway stops in New York City, CTA and Metra (Regional Rail) stops for Chicago. Meanwhile, some users outside the U.S. have informed MacRumors about receiving turn-by-turn and traffic data using the beta 3 version.
Other improvements include getting Answer and Decline buttons back in FaceTime when receiving a call, glyphs for bookmarks, reading list, and history instead of worded labels in Safari. Moreover, Reading List has also been incorporated in the sync bar in Safari. The beta 3 version of iOS 6 also makes specific improvement for iPad. Checking Cellular Data no longer forces iPad users into Portrait Mode, reports MacRumors.
Apart from improvements, Apple has also incorporated some new features in the beta 3 version. The list of new features includes allowing customization of volume, distances, map labels in Maps along with new icons for Junk, Trash, and Archive. Moreover, it brings iMessage on iPad with options to add phone number for unified messaging and fourth generation iPod Touch now has VIP inbox with the new iOS 6 beta 3 version.
Apple unveiled iOS 6 at this year's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June. The final version of Apple's iOS 6 is expected to be released in the fall with the next generation iPhone.
