Apple released its new range of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference, and within a month, the company has to roll out a software update to resolve CPU power use and USB issues.
On Wednesday, the Cupertino tech giant released software update for the mid-2012 MacBook Air models (both 11- and 13-inch) and for the MacBook Pros including the latest Retina display model. While Apple did not reveal much about the update, the release note states that the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 1.0 fixes an issue that can lead to increased CPU power consumption, and it improves compatibility with some USB devices. The update is recommended for all Mac notebooks introduced since June 2012.
Earlier, MacBook users have mentioned issues regarding port failure and incompatibility with USB 3 drives and new USB 3 ports on Apple's Support Communities. Apple, however, has made a quick move to address the issue and launched a new update within a month of releasing the new MacBook line.
File size of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 1.0 is 76.64MB.
In case, you are also suffering from the same USB and power consumption issue, download the latest update through Apple's Support Downloads Page or via Software Update tool.
