Sony Unveils Walkman F800 with Android 4.0

Sony has released its latest PMP, Walkman F800, that comes with a 3.5-inches display and runs on Android 4.0 OS - Ice Cream Sandwich.

Apart from ICS, the new media player will also sport the usual WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options which will have pre-installed apps to access your email, maps and media gallery. It will also have USB port and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack and three storage options ranging from 8GB to 16GB, and 32GB. Sony has also packed in support for audio files MP3, WMA, AAC, PCM, FLAC and video MPEG-4, AVC (H.264/AVC), and WMV9 along with an intracanal headphones MDR-EX0300E with the new Walkman. The built-in battery of the device will give up to 4.5 hours of video playback support and 20 hours of audio listening.

The new walkman replaces the company's Z series media players.

According to Sony's press release, the new F800 walkman will let you, "[e]njoy crisp highs and full, thumping bass powered by S-Master MX Digital Amplifier and five Clear Audio technologies. You can even share your sounds out loud via the built-in xLOUD® speaker system that cuts distortion and unpleasant clipping for clearer listening."

Sony Walkman F800 will be available at £210 ($279) in Europe.

Along with the new ICS-powered Walkman, Sony has also launched a range of 2012 Walkmans which includes Walkman S770BT Series with Wireless listening with bundled Bluetooth headphones, Walkman E570 Series with Brilliantly clear sound with digital noise cancelling and Walkman E470 Series with Vibrant colors and 36 hours battery life. All the new models are compatible with Sony's Music Unlimited service.
