Telstra, the Australian telecom, has confirmed that HTC is currently preparing to introduce Google's latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for One XL (the global version of U.S. One X) and for One S smartphones.
While the software update page of Telstra reveals that HTC is planning to bring the OS update, it has not mentioned any estimated date of releasing the update.
The Telstra website notes "We know our customers want the latest, best-performing software for their smartphones. We work with handset manufacturers and operating system designers to bring these software updates to our customers as quickly as we can. To ensure each phone performs at its best on the Next G® network, all updates to Telstra smartphones are rigorously tested."
Currently, Google's Nexus 7 tablet and Galaxy Nexus smartphone are the only devices to run the latest Jelly Bean OS. The recently released OS introduces some stunning new features that include Smooth and Project Butter for smooth and fast performance, richer format of notification, a sleek Voice Type feature, resizable widgets, Voice Search option, Android Beam (using NFC technology, users can share data), Google Now (right information at right time), improved camera, and many more.
Meanwhile, HTC One X has been receiving raving reviews since its launch. It has also been touted as the "King among the Android phones," but recently the makers of the phone has announced that they failed to meet their expectations in terms of selling their flagship One X phone and also could not make good impression in the market.
The Taiwanese company has revealed its second quarter earnings result which shows its net profit fell 57.77 percent from a year earlier and revenue dipped 27 percent.
