The phenomenal human-vampire romance flick "Twilight" has been rumored to make a reboot recently and fans are more than excited about the news. Unfortunately, it looks like the said comeback won't be happening soon as author Stephenie Meyer revealed she's "over" it.
In a previous report here in iTech Post, it was revealed that Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-chairman Patrick Wachsberger discussed the possibility of having a new installation in the "Twilight" Saga if the opportunity arises.
"It's a possibility. Not a certainty but it's a possibility. It's about Stephenie [novelist Stephenie Meyer]. If she wants to tell a story related to those characters we're here for her." he said in an interview with Screen Daily, hinting a possible Edward and Bella reunion.
However, author Stephenie Meyer confirmed in an earlier interview that she is "over" about "Twilight" and its characters. "I get further away [from Twilight] every day," Meyer said. "For me, it's not a happy place to be."
Though, she clarified that she won't rule out ever writing about "Twilight" again, saying, "What I would probably do is three paragraphs on my blog saying which of the characters died." She also added that, "I'm interested in spending time in other worlds, like Middle Earth."
With this, speculations arise that Meyer would only consider returning to the "Twilight" world only when Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) will die.
If the fate of "Twilight" franchise depends on Meyer as noted by Wachsberger, it looks like there will be no related movie featuring Pattinson and Stewart coming out soon.
Earlier reports claim that both Pattinson and Stewart are willing to reunite for another "Twilight" movie. Stewart even shared her insights about a possible reboot in a recent interview.
"I was so genuinely, heavily entrenched in that, and not in a way that felt like an obligation. Even though after the first one, which stood alone, it lasted a long time. It's hard to speak to a five-year period in a few sentences, but I loved doing it. But that doesn't mean I want to keep doing it. But if other people wanted to? Yeah, sure. To be honest with you, I would be interested. I'd be kind of fascinated, but it wouldn't emotionally affect me one way or the other."
Will fans still get to see Edward Cullen and Bella Swan soon? Only time will tell. For now, relive the couple's romantic moments in "Twilight" below.
