‘How I Met Your Mother’ Season 10: New Season Focuses On Lily And Marshall?

Eleven years ago, the TV world first got to know the characters Ted, Barney, Marshall, Robin, and Lily in the now iconic show "How I Met Your Mother." In 2014, the series ended after nine hit seasons.

The TV series followed the story of Ted Mosby who was played by Josh Radnor telling his kids the story of how he met their mother. After the revelation of who the mother of Ted's kids is, some fans felt that the finale was a bit anticlimactic, and disappointing that debates among the fans ensued.

Two years after the series finale, news regarding a possible "How I Met Your Mother" season 10 surfaced. In a recent interview with actress Alyson Hannigan who played the character Lily in the popular TV series, she teased that there is a possibility of a spin-off rather than another season of "How I Met Your Mother."

She said, "In the last season [of HIMYM], I was like, 'We need to do a Marshall-Lily spin-off,'" Hannigan recalls telling his on-screen husband Jason Segal who plays the character, Marshall. "He said 10 years ... and then we can come back."

She even joked, "It wasn't even really about Marshall and Lily - he and I just love working together. So we said we'd do another sitcom. I think it would be called 'Out By Lunch' because he and I work so fast we always have days when we're done by lunch."

Back in 2014, it was reported that CBS was currently working on a spin-off series titled "How I Met Your Dad." However, the series' executive producer Carter Bays was quick to put off this rumor and posted via Twitter that they are "really, truly not working on 'How I Met Your Dad' anymore."

It might be wishful thinking for Alysson Hannigan, but it surely is something that fans of the show would love to happen as well.
