Nintendo NES Classic News: Game Manuals, Display Modes Revealed

The classic Nintendo Entertainment System or NES Classic Edition will have its some sort of debut again this November with new features. Nintendo gave fans a sneak peek to keep their excitement up.

According to Nintendo, the NES Classic games can be played in three different modes: the classic mode, the pixel perfect mode, and the CRT mode. The classic mode allows players to view the game with a 4:3 aspect ratio while the pixel perfect mode presents the game in a square screen rather than the 4:3 rectangle. This also allows the pixel to appear in perfect square. On the other hand, the CRT mode gives players the look of a classic TV giving it a nostalgic feel.

Nintendo also said during the reveal that the way the games for NES Classic Edition have been designed is the "most accurate representation" of the original games. This sparked some debate among users with others saying that if that is the case, Nintendo developers did not really consider how the games would look like in the screen.

Another feature the NES Classic has is the QR code which gives players access to the manual of the game. Unlike the Virtual Console games which have the manuals included, players who purchase the Classic Edition will have to use their mobile devices to access the manual.

The NES Classic Edition has a total of 30 games which are already pre-loaded in the system. So those who are expecting to use the classic game cartridges will be disappointed. Also the new device is much smaller than the original. Moreover, the system has a four save state to allow players to save their progress and get back to them at a later time.

The games will be released on November 11 for $60. It has no internet connectivity function so all the 30 games in the NES Classic Edition system are the only games players will have.
