‘Street Fighter 5’ Update: Capcom To Release Next Week Halloween-Themed Costumes & Stage For Game

After the introduction in September of the new player “Urien” in the classic fighting game “Street Fighter 5,” Capcom said it would roll out in October new features for the forthcoming Halloween. “Street Fighter 5” would get several premium costumes for characters and a special stage which revolve around the November holiday.

According to Capcom Unity blog, there would be seven Halloween-themed costumes priced at $3.99 each, available in colors 1-10. Not every character on “Street Fighter 5” would get the new costume. The characters who would have new clothes for the November event are Ryu, Charlie, Vega, Cammy, Necali, Alex and Jury, according to Polygon. The costumes would be available from the PlayStation Store and Steam.

The stage is apparently a reworked version of the current Russian stage, but candles, jack-‘o-lanterns, gravestones, zombie Cossack dancers and other Halloween décor abound, for the price of $1.99 or 40,000 Fight Money. There are also several cameos, such as Necro and Effie from “Street Fighter 3.” The two are seen hanging around a witch cauldron in the stage background.

The new costumes and stage would be available from Oct. 11 until Nov. 29. Although there is the possibility that Capcom-Unity would bring back the costumes and stages for Halloween 2017, the games website recommended buying the items now before stock runs out.

“Street Fighter 5” would occupy Booth #1420 at the New York Comic Con this week and host several tournaments throughout the show. Prizes for winners are limited edition Playstation 4 faceplates. Those who would attend the event could try out all the Halloween content for free at the Capcom booth before its official Oct. 11 release date.

In September, besides introducing "Urien," Capcom-Unity also presented new environmental stage knockouts for Shadaloo Base, Hillside Plaza, Underground Arena, Forgotten Waterfall, Union Station, Kanzuki Estate, City in Chaos, Apprentice Alley and Lair of the Four Kings. It also made available premium costumes in all colors.

Players also got a new way to earn more Fight Money through new “Daily Targets” that award players between 100 and 5,000 Fight Money when they accomplish their targets.
