The most anticipated sequel of Red Barrel's highly acclaimed horror game, Outlast, has finally been released for PS4, Xbox One and PC today. Outlast 2 may have been pushed on its launching schedule, which made a lot of fans fairly disappointed, the hype is on after its official demo release across all three platforms.
First Look on Outlast 2
The 8GB demo takes you into an insane and horrific journey in the Arizona dessert, where you play as Blake Langermann, an investigative journalist who, together with your wife Lynn, sets out to uncover the truth behind the "impossible murder" of a pregnant woman.
The majority of the Outlast 2 demo highlighted the game's advance lighting effects that evidently intensify the thrill and excitement of each scene as you move through the story. The advance lighting and sound effects definitely stand-out during the part where you track down the culprit behind the abduction of your wife and you find yourself in a cornfield where wayward flashlight beams and frightening growls hunts you in your deepest nightmares.
Brain behind the Outlast Game
Outlast 2 is developed by Red Barrels, the same studio that made the first game. It is important to note that Red Barrels was founded by the same developers who worked on highly successful console games such as Uncharted, Assassin's Creed franchises and Prince of Persia.
Outlast 2 Official Release
Outlast 2 was originally set to be released by the end of 2016 but developers announced it will be delayed until the early of 2017.
With the delay of the launching, people are getting even more frantic as they wait for the successor of the highly successful first-person survival horror game of 2013, Outlast. People are now anticipating how Outlast 2 will compare against its rival Resident Evil 7 which will also be released during Q1 of 2017.
