'The Winds Of Winter' Spoilers, News And Updates: George RR Martin Won't Talk About Dates Anymore; Excerpt Included In Enhanced Digital Edition

Award winning author George RR Martin has been open about the current status of his highly anticipated book "The Winds Of Winter," admitting that he is still currently working on the said masterpiece.

With the "Game Of Thrones" being a couple of seasons away from its epic series finale, many fans anticipate what George RR Martin has up his sleeve in preparation for the said ending. According to reports, the famed author won't be putting an end to the "Game Of Thrones" franchise yet, as he recently revealed endless "fake history" related to the said series.

"I do have thousands of pages of fake history of everything that led up to Game of Thrones. So there's a wealth of material there and I'm still writing more."

With this, fans were quick to speculate that a prequel might be on the way despite the author being busy with his prior commitments. However, George RR Martin clarified the rumor, saying, "But at the moment, we still have this show to finish, and I still have two books to finish, so that's all speculation."

It can be recalled that "The Winds Of Winter" has been pushed back several times and fans think it is long overdue for release. With all the hype and anticipation continuously building up, George RR Martin decided not to talk about dates anymore to avoid disappointing people.

Meanwhile, fans who can't wait for "The Winds Of Winter" official release can get an early preview of the book in digital form. According to reports, an excerpt from the upcoming masterpiece of George RR Martin has been included in "A Game of Thrones: Enhanced Edition" released on Sept. 29 on Apple's iBooks. This is in line with the book's 20th anniversary celebration.

"We're now entering a new period in the history of publishing," George RR Martin revealed. "The digital book gives readers the ability to experience all this rich secondary material that had not been possible before."

"The Winds Of Winter" excerpt will have an interactive content that provides vivid details of the "Game Of Thrones" world. George RR Martin added, "Anything that confuses you, anything you want to know more about, it's right there at your fingertips. It's an amazing next step in the world of books."

The "Game Of Thrones" Enhanced Edition with "The Winds Of Winter" excerpt is now available for $8.99. Other books in the series will also be available in enhanced digital edition - "A Clash Of Kings" on Oct.27, "A Storm Of Swords" on Dec. 15, "A Feast Of Crows" on February 2017 and "A Dance Of Dragons" in March.

As for the official release of "The Winds Of Winter," George RR Martin has not made any confirmation with regards to its specific date but the publishers assured that any updates will be announced through the author's website.
