Windows Phone 8 Consumer Features To Be Revealed On September 5?

More news related to Windows Phone 8 has arrived. As per latest reports, the Windows Phone 8 consumer-oriented features will be unveiled at Nokia World on September 5, 2012.

Although we have already seen a handful of developer-oriented features at the Windows Phone Summit in San Francisco, we now know, as per Chinese Windows Phone site, WPDang, that there will be a new start screen, a new web browser, a shared Windows 8 core, and a number of new ways to build apps.

WPDang also reports that Nokia will also be unveiling two Windows Phone 8 devices during the event. Unluckily, the website was unable to confirm whether either of these two initial launch devices will come equipped with PureView technology.

We also know that quite a few Nokia branded Windows Phone 8 codenames are showing up around the web. And although very little is known about these codenamed devices being tested other than the Windows Phone 8 build numbers, we have got ourselves a Lumia 910, 920, 1001, Champagne, Burr, Phi, Prodigy, and AC/DC (seriously? AC/DC?).

Moreover, HowardForums also managed to spot a device with a codename of Nokia Burr on WPBench, running a recent Windows Phone 8 build 8.0.9743. Unfortunately, no performance stats were available for this device, so, besides the name, we are yet to find any details about the Nokia Burr.

Stay tuned for more updates on this.
