FIFA 17 Tips, Tricks, Strategies: Ultimate Team Formation

Whether you play football in real life or not, FIFA 17 is one exciting game that keeps you on the edge of your seats. There are several game modes to choose from but the most exciting is the Ultimate Team mode (this depends on the player's preference of course). For those who been playing with this mode, here are some formation tricks to ensure success in the field.

There are a total of 25 Ultimate Team formations to choose from but there are four that stands out when it comes to offense, defense, counter-attacks, and possession.

If the team is on the offensive, the best formation is the 4-3-3 formation where there are two centers and one attacking midfielder. This formation works best for those who want to cross the ball while providing good balance in different points and areas. If a team chooses this, the responsibility is on the wingers to ensure success because they are the ones who will create goal opportunities.

If the team is playing defense, the best formation for this is the 3-5-2 position, especially if the player has decent CDMs as well as LBs and RBs. However, if the team is going to use this, they have to understand that it will make them open for a counter-attack from the other team, especially in wide positions. To counter this, they must have a hybrid squad to fill in three very fast CBs. When executing this formation, their CAM might also be isolated at times.

The 4-3-3 formation is also the best one to deploy when your team is executing a counter-attack. But unlike in offense where the team has two centers, counter-attacks should dispose two defense and one attacking midfielder for it to work.

Lastly, if the team wants to possess the ball effectively, the 4-4-2 formation without any players on the wing is very lethal. This is also a very beginner friendly formation which can be used in both offense and defense. However, teams who want to use this must make sure that their players are all-around.
