The latest Android OS version, Nougat, which was officially announced last Aug. 22 is now coming to treat Motorola's 15 Android smartphones with its sweet flavor.
After Google's move of updating its devices, different android smartphone manufacturers are also doing the same. The American multinational telecommunication company Motorola is not an exemption to that. Samsung did confirm its update to its flagship devices and so with Sony, LG Huawei and HTC.
What devices will get the Update?
The devices that will savor the goodness of the Android Nougat includes the latest Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Play, the Moto G-series which includes Moto G4, Moto G4 Play and Moto G4 Plus. Motorola also included last year's Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force in the list and of course the Nexus 6 that was launched a couple of years ago.
Other than these devices, the company has also listed international smartphones that are sold in the U.S., which includes the Moto X Pure Edition, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z Play Droid and Moto Z Force Droid. However, it is sad to see that last year's release Moto G, Moto G Turbo and the very recently released Moto E3 Power have not made it to the list and will not receive the update.
The Goodness Nougat can Offer
This update will bring a more enhanced emoji experience, better notification controls, the ability to more easily switch between apps using just a double-tap, improved battery life and data saver features.
Release Date of the Update
Motorola will start rolling out the Android Nougat 7.0 update later this quarter via OTA. It is expected that the Motorola Moto Z ad Moto G4 will be the first devices to receive the update.
