Another superhero is about to take the center stage.
Television series right now are bigger than ever. It started from classical, stage like drama series, to witty and comedic shows. This year, a lot of series are leaning towards superhero motives. I remember when Smallville was the only series that focuses on superhero which is superman. Now, we have more than count on one hand finger of series that are based on the comic books.
We already have The Flash, Arrow, Daredevil, Supergirl, the up and coming Luke Cage, and now, Iron Fist.
All of the series mentioned are somewhat based on comic books. Some of them have successful run in comic book industry and now they are trying to exploit television series.
Getting a gig into television series is unpredictable. It might last few seasons, it may end in one season. There is no guarantee with mainstream television. However, by checking the records, it seems that series who has a superhero themed story last longer than other series. It might be that most of the viewers can relate to them since they were able to read their comic books prior to showing it on TV, or they are just enjoying it.
For the past couple of weeks, Marvel keep teasing its fans about a new hero joining TV gig. Then finally on their facebook page, they revealed a picture of Iron Fist a.k.a Danny Rand. Most of you might not know Iron Fist as he is not considered as one of the most popular superheroes, unlike Superman, The Flash, Deadpool or my all time favorite Batman.
