When setting out to play Pokemon Go, you must first know what you will do. Are you going out for a hunt, or are you going out for gym battles? If you plan to do both then, it wouldn't be much of a problem as you can decide to go back to the gym for battles if you run out of PokeBalls, just pick up a few balls if a PokeStop comes your way. This would also remind you to check on your storage, getting rid of unwanted potions to make room for PokeBalls picked up along the way.

Next, if you really want to hunt a lot of Pokemon, you must be sure that the area you planning to go to will have lots of spawn points. Else, you'll just end up having a stroll with no new Pokemon to go home with.
