iPhone 5 Release Rumor: Apple to Release iPad Mini and iPhone Together on September 9…or 12?

Rumor mills are apparently working overtime to generate more and more rumors about the next generation iPhone, popularly named as iPhone 5.

As per the latest report from iMore, we might be seeing Apple's much-hyped iPhone 5 as soon as in September. And, that's not all! The report citing its dependable source further claims that the Cupertino tech giant is planning a super bonanza for its users and thus, will be releasing another much-rumored device, iPad Mini and a revamped iPod line, together with the iPhone on September 12. The phone will release nine days later on Friday, September 21.

In a separate report, AllThingsD's sources have claimed that Apple will be launching the phone not on 12 but on September 9, Wednesday. The report points out that Apple's prepayment for inventory components has spiked recently by $1.15 billion in the June quarter. Such a rise is a clear indication that the company is prepping up the launch of its major product, next iPhone.

"Historically, such increases have been followed by a solid ramp-up in revenue in the following 2-3 quarters," Maynard Um, Wells Fargo Securities analyst, said in a Monday note to clients. "In our view, an increase in inventory component prepayment may suggest that Apple is securing supply for potential new product launches."

Meanwhile, French blog site, App4phone.fr, citing China's third largest accessory maker, reported last week that this year's most-awaited phone will finally be released on Friday, September 21, 2012.

Earlier, WSJ also claimed that Apple has already begun the production of the next-generation iPhone. It also indicated that the Cupertino tech giant will use the in-cell touch display technology to reduce the thickness and weight of the device.

While rumors might go crazy or wrong, we should all remember that iPhone 4S was also launched almost during the same time last year. All these points strengthen our suspicion that we will soon be getting the launch invitation from Apple. What do you think? Let us know in the comment section.
